Over the past few years we have dealt with large-scale disasters such as the floods in Hull, Carlisle and Tewkesbury, plus the fire at the oil depot in Buncefield that saw 2,000 nearby residents needing to be evacuated.

In 2007, the worst floods in Britain took the emergency services and local authorities by surprise and now they are playing catch up.

In more recent years, the country has seen a record number of flash floods with an ever-increasing number of people requiring rescues from properties close to inland waterways. In fact, nearly 150,000 people in the Midlands live in areas threatened by floods. And with some parts of the country seeing a foot of rainfall over a 10-day period, the scale of the challenge cannot be underestimated.

With the rapid rise of people in need of emergency accommodation at very short notice, Teepee Homes have developed a service especially for local authorities, councils and housing associations.

Once the service is in place, authorities can inform their constituents, thereby giving them peace of mind that they have been proactive in finding a solution to a potentially disastrous situation.
